Band
The Pride of Paola Panther Band has two band courses at Paola High School, including:
Block B1 Band: This class includes Marching, Concert, and Pep Band and includes required outside of the school day performances. Previous enrollment in middle school band is required.
Block G1 Jazz Band: This is a class for students who are already enrolled* in our B1 Band and want to learn playing Jazz Literature. Jazz Band is limited to standard jazz big band instruments (saxophone, trumpet, trombone, drum set, piano, bass and guitar). Students audition in order to participate in Jazz Band. This class also includes required outside of the school day performances.
*Students who play piano, bass, or guitar may be eligible for enrollment in Jazz Band without concurrent enrollment in the Block B1 Band. Contact Mr. Starks for more details.
