What is the GED®?
GED® stands for General Education Development. The GED® is an exam that consists of four tests. It is for people who do not have a high school diploma. If you pass, you get a Kansas State High school Diploma issued from Kansas Board of Regents.
Who can take the GED®?
You must:

Not be currently enrolled in school

Not be a high school or GED graduate

Be 16 or older
-
If you are 16 or 17 the Compulsory Attendance Disclaimer forms must be provided
What is on the GED test?
The GED exam consists of four sub-tests:

Reasoning through Language Arts
-
Social Studies
-
Science
-
Mathematics
What is the cost of the test?
GED Ready is the official practice test is free to students (non-students must pay $24.00 on-line with a debit or credit card, $6/sub-test)
The GED® Test is $156.00 total (4 tests, $39.00 each)
What type of payment is accepted?

Money Orders – Made payable to Paola Adult Education Center
When we receive your payment, we then purchase the GED® testing vouchers. Staff at the Paola Adult Education Center are available for any questions or concerns.
The four sub-tests may also be purchased on-line with a credit or debit card. If this is the preferred method, each test needs to be scheduled and paid for individually, even if you are scheduling more than one test on a particular day.
Photo Identification
You will need to present current state identification (driver’s license or state I.D.) to be admitted into the GED® test for each test.
